Local Rules

  • 1| Out of bounds is defined by the line beyond the boundary-side points at ground level of white stakes and fence posts.

    2| Beyond fences and hedges ounding the course.

    3| In or over the River Avon on the 12th hole.

  • 1| Red penalty areas are defined by red stakes.

    2| Yellow penalty areas are defined by yellow stakes.

  • 1| All stakes on the course are treated as immovable obstructions from which free relief is allowed under Rule 16.1. Relief is not allowed to be taken under Rule 15.2.

    2| Any tree which is marked with white paint, staked, plastic coilwrapped or wire meshed.

    3| Pump houses on the 10th hole.

    4| Water system control covers and fixed sprinkler heads.

    5| In addition, if such an obstruction on or within two clublengths of the putting green of the hole being played intervenes on the line of play between the ball and the hole being played, a player may obtain relief without penalty as follows; If the ball lies off the putting green (but not in a bunker) and is within two club-lengths of the intervening obstruction, it may be lifted, cleaned and dropped at the nearest point to where the ball lay which (i) is not nearer the hole, (ii) avoids such intervention and (iii) is not in a bunker or on a putting green.

    6| There is no relief for line of sight from immovable obstructions.

    7| All pathways and areas surfaced with stone for decorative or drainage purposes (except those located within a bunker or penalty area).

    8| All coloured yardage markers.

    9| Ropes, chains and hoops.

  • 1| Areas marked with blue stakes and/or notices.

    2| Tractor marks.

    3| Aeration holes and slits, but interference with the player’s stance is not deemed to be of itself interference under this rule.

    4| Any ball finishing beyond the blue staked line to the right on the 5th hole, or within the excavated area between the 9th fairway and the practice green is in GUR from which play is prohibited. A ball must be dropped from the respective Drop Zones as indicated without penalty.

  • 1| Any ball embedded ‘through the green’ may be lifted, cleaned and dropped, without penalty, as near as possible to the spot where it lay but not nearer the hole.
